Faced with tight budgets, growing demands, and increasing mandates, schools across the country are doing more on their own to bring extra dollars into the classroom.  Candy and bake sales are still a mainstay, but generating more cash quickly is a necessity that sometimes falls heavy on the shoulders of local PTA’s and principals’ offices.  Needing more money, yet wanting to be sensitive about imposing on parents too often, schools are eagerly looking for new fund raising avenues.

“The principals and administrators I meet are looking for more.  Much more,” said Leisa Johnson, Manager, Teachers' Referral Program for Schools™, a project of Teachers’ Insurance Plan™.  “They’re already under a great deal of pressure.  Faced with ever increasing demands, often compounded by budget cuts, alternative ways of raising money faster and easier have a strong appeal.”

Teachers’ Insurance Plan has a fund raising program that contributes money for every teacher in a school who receives a free, no obligation car insurance quote.  Johnson described it as a turn-key operation with barely any work involved for the school.  She pointed to a school in Philadelphia, which recently completed a one-day drive that raised more than $1,300.

“With the approval of the principal, we simply provided information about our auto insurance product designed for teachers,” Johnson noted.  “The faculty was advised that for every new insurance quote request we received, we’d contribute money to the school.  The school raised money while teachers found out how much money they could save on their auto insurance.”

The Teachers’ Referral Program for Schools™ is available to all public and private schools in states where Teachers’ Insurance Plan offers service.    Teachers’ Insurance Plan is underwritten by a licensed member of the Response Insurance Group of Companies.  More information about Teachers’ is at www.Teachers.com.
