Amtrak provides extensive service to Philadelphia's 30th Street Station (30th and Market Streets). For schedules and fares, contact Amtrak at 800-USA-RAIL or www.amtrak.com. Philadelphia is served by Amtrak, which operates rail service along the Northeast Corridor stretching from Boston to Washington, and other major cities in the United States and Canada. Amtrak's 30th Street Station is minutes from the Pennsylvania Convention Center and Center City hotels. The Marriott Center City and the Pennsylvania Convention Center are located steps from the Market East station and are directly accessible from the station.

 

Arriving by Bus

 

Intercity bus service is excellent, with daily arrivals from all parts of the country. The Greyhound Bus Terminal is located at 10th and Filbert Sts.

Arriving by plane

 

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is the only major airport serving one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States. Owned by the City of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Airport System (comprised of Philadelphia International Airport and Northeast Philadelphia Airport) is operated by the Department of Commerce's Division of Aviation.

 

Located seven (7) miles from downtown Philadelphia, the Airport is easily accessible from Interstates 76, 95, and 476.

 

As you leave the gate area, follow the signs to baggage claim and ground transportation.  You will take an escalator or elevator down to this area. (Baggage claim can be very crowded and slow during peak arrival times.)

There are other free "hotspots" in the center city area: Reading Terminal Market, the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and the Headhouse Square Plaza.

Arrival by Car

 

Directions to the Pennsylvania Convention Center/Philadelphia Marriott Center City:

 

From the east: Take I-676 west over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge and follow signs to Rte.611/PA Convention Center onto Vine Street. Turn left onto 12th Street. *

From the west: Take I-76 east to exit 344 (I-676 east). Follow signs for Central Philadelphia. Take the second exit (Broad Street/Route 611) onto Vine Street. Follow sign for Vine Street/PA Convention Center; at the fourth traffic light, turn right onto 12th Street. *

From the north: Take I-95 south to exit 22 (Central Philadelphia/I-676). Take I-676 west to the first exit (Broad Street). Follow exit ramp onto 15th Street. Turn left at the second traffic light onto Vine Street and stay to the right following signs for Vine Street/PA Convention Center. Turn right onto 12th Street.*

From the south: Take I-95 north to exit 22 (Central Philadelphia/I-676) (left exit). Take I-676 west to the first exit (Broad Street). Follow signs for Vine Street/PA Convention Center. Turn right onto 12th Street. *

*The entrance to the Convention Center is located two blocks ahead at 12th and Arch Streets.
