Welcome Back! I hope that the 2006-2007 school year is off to a fantastic start!
This summer the Central Region has worked hard to plan different events to provide networking and professional development opportunities for our member and non-member schools.
A Principal’s Breakfast is planned for September 22, 2006. PMSA’s Jim Smoyer will speak at this event highlighting the organization, member benefits, and the middle school philosophy.
A Mini-Conference is planned for October 23, 2006. The evening will begin with networking opportunities, followed by dinner and a presentation by Rick Wormeli. This evening is sure to be both informative and entertaining! |

2006-2007 Call for Election of PMSA Regional Board Members
Middle level educators who are interested in running for a three year term on one of the four PMSA Regional Boards can download an application from the PMSA web site at www.pmsaweb.org. Completed applications must be mailed or faxed to the address below by December 15, 2006, using the guidelines listed below. The regional board election ballots will be mailed to all individual members, dual members, and school members in February of 2007. New board members will be inducted to their respective boards during the annual PMSA State Conference, March 4, 5, and 6, at the Harrisburg Hilton and Conference Center.
The following guidelines should be followed for the application process: 1. Candidates must be members of PMSA in good standing, either through a school, dual, or individual membership. 2. Candidates must fully complete and submit PMSA Election Application. 3. Candidates must include two references on the application. 4. Candidates must agree to the conditions as stated on the application. |

Our next meeting will be on October 10, 2006, at 3:45 pm at Park Forest Middle School in State College. On the meeting agenda will be highlights from the Executive Board meeting and final discussions for the mini-conference. We will also highlight any MOYA activities that are happening within our schools. Anyone interested in becoming involved with PMSA in the Central Region is welcome to attend.
