NMSA Executive Director Search
To: Affiliate Presidents and Executive Directors
NMSA has begun its recruitment process to find a replacement for Sue Swaim, NMSA’s executive director. As you know, she has announced her retirement effective June 30, 2007.
As such, NMSA could use your assistance in helping developing a pool of viable candidates. The advertisement and job description have been posted on NMSA’s website. You can find it at http://www.nmsa.org/AboutNMSA/ExecutiveDirectorSearch/tabid/1086/Default.aspx
Ideally, we would like each affiliate to include this link on your home page so that people visiting your website would know about the opening as well.
Thanks for considering this suggestion. Your help in this search process is most appreciated.

About NMSA
The National Middle School Association was created in 1973 to serve as a voice for those who are committed to the educational and developmental needs of young adolescents. NMSA is the only national educational association that is dedicated exclusively to the growth of middle level education. Current membership is over 30,000 people representing teachers, administrators, professors, college students, parents, community leaders and educational consultants from across the United States, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia.
A network of 58 affiliate organizations allows NMSA to strengthen its outreach to the regional, state, provincial, and local levels. It is a goal of NMSA to establish and maintain a purposeful, working relationship with the affiliate organizations around the world. Each summer, NMSA hosts an Affiliate Leaders Summit which provides an opportunity for association presidents, executive directors, conference chairperson and other key leadership personnel to network, share ideas, and promote best practices for middle level students.
NMSA provides professional development, journals, books, research and other valuable resources to assist middle level educators. The annual conference attracts nearly 8,000 attendees and is on of the largest professional development events in education today. Additional resources available through NMSA include Middle School Journal, Middle Ground magazine and more than 100 books addressing a variety of middle level education topics.
